This recipe makes 3 cups of simple syrup, which, if properly stored, can last in your fridge for up to 2 weeks.

How to Make Spooky Pumpkin Simple Syrup

  1. Begin by placing 1.5 cups of water in a pot on the stove over low heat.

  2. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 Clove, and grate the Nutmeg 8 times using the micro planer into the water.

  3. Cover the pot and let the mixture simmer for half an hour.

  4. After simmering, strain the liquid into a measuring cup. Some of the liquid may have been absorbed by the cinnamon sticks, so add additional water as needed to reach the original 1.5-cup volume.

  5. Return the strained liquid back into the pot, keeping the heat on low.

  6. Slowly introduce 1.5 cups of sugar into the pot while stirring continuously.

  7. Incorporate half a can of pumpkin into the pot, stirring until the pumpkin fully dissolves.

  8. Strain the mixture into the large bowl.

  9. Finally, transfer the strained liquid from the bowl into your chosen storage container.

Now, you have a spicy and spooky simple syrup for cocktails, mocktails, iced tea, breakfast, desserts, and more.
